A friendly and inclusive special needs school in Abingdon are looking for a Graduate to join their team as an Autism/Speech and Language Assistant. In this role, you will help support pupils with a primary diagnosis of Autism, who also face communication challenges.

As an Autism/Speech and Language Assistant you will…

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with Autism, helping them with daily tasks, classroom activities and communication development.
  • Support children to develop social skills, emotional regulation and independence.
  • Create an inclusive, supportive and structured environment that promotes learning and healthy social interactions.
  • Work closely with Speech and Language Therapists to implement personalised learning plans and communication strategies.

The school are ideally seeking for a Graduate with a degree in Psychology or Criminology. They are looking for a compassionate and patient individual, with a desire to help vulnerable children. Experience working in a similar role or experience with SEN would be beneficial but not essential. This is a great opportunity for a Graduate to gain valuable experience in the field of development, psychology and speech and language.
