Trainee Mechanical Maintenance Technician

A great opportunity is now available for a Trainee Maintenance Technician to join an established but expanding manufacturing business, in South Oxfordshire.

If you have recently completed an engineering apprenticeship or college course and have practical hands-on experience in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance,Servicing and repair, this position will provide you further development and training, to enable you to become a fully qualified Maintenance Engineer.

Work will be varied and you will be part of a small but experienced maintenance team.

Responsibilities (Once fully trained)

  • Carry out routine and emergency repairs to mechanical equipment
  • Agree with supervisors the timing of scheduled maintenance work and use the scheduled maintenance control system
  • Routine maintenance on plant service equipment - Vessels & cooling towers etc.
  • Report and repair faulty equipment
  • Maintain stocks of engineering consumables
  • Carry out and/or assist in routine testing and inspection of engineering equipment and systems

Qualifications & Experience

  • Mechanical engineering qualifications or the ability to demonstrate experience and competence in this area
  • Some electrical engineering awareness is ideal
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Team player with good communications skills
  • Physically fit due to the hands-on nature of the role
