JOB TITLE:                 PRODUCT SPECIFICATION COORDINATOR/ADMINISTRATORREPORTING TO:          QUALITY & COMPLIANCE MANAGERLOCATION:                 Accrington, Lancashire, Hybrid (2 days at home/3 in the office)SALARY:                     £35k per annumWe are looking to recruit for our award-winning client, a national buying and marketing group based in Accrington, Lancashire that works on behalf of 13 members across the UK and Ireland. Our client provides its members with products and services that add value to their businesses and enable them to compete effectively within the evolving fmcg marketplace.This is a new role to the business and there are over 700 products in the company brand ranges which means the demands on Quality and Technical functions are continually expanding and this role will be pivotal to the ongoing development of this department. Prime Job PurposeTo generate and maintain accurate product specifications across a broad range of products and ongoing development of the Specification system. To support with the product life cycle of all products in the range. KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To keep own brand specifications up to date on company portal.
  • To keep supplier questionnaires up to date.
  • To manage brand specification data to feed other external systems.
  • Develop relationships with supplier technical departments to deliver on time information.
  • To work with the relevant departments on ensuring the Product Life Cycle is effectively maintained and developed.
  • Keep up to date with changes in food legislation and advise where changes are needed to ensure the brand meets legal requirements – liaising with legislative bodies where required.
  • Conduct regular benchmarking sessions of competitor products.
  • Be involved with quarterly packaging audits to ensure the products are meeting the required standards.
  • Be responsible for ensuring all legal requirements are maintained.  This will include liaison with both local and central government agencies.
  • Analysis of complaints and work collaboratively on corrective actions.
  • To provide monthly updates to the Own Brand meetings on any technical matters.
  • Supporting the Quality and Compliance Manager and other members of the Senior Management team on other tasks as required.
Training will be provided where required but you must have experience in food science, fmcg or a related qualification in line with food guideline regulations.QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Degree or HND in Food Science or related qualification
  • Competent in use of online food specification systems
  • Competent in use of Microsoft suite of packages
  • Minimum of 2 years technical experience
  • Full clean driving licence.
