About Us:Veritas are recruiting on behalf of a partner school in Accrington who are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced teacher to join their team on a part-time basis to cover for a member of staff who will be absent. This role will involve teaching a mixed Year 5/6 class, and we are looking for someone who can manage a challenging class with varying needs, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and behaviour concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality lessons in line with the curriculum for Year 5 and 6 students.
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Supporting children with SEN, providing differentiated learning and tailored support.
  • Collaborating with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the classroom.
  • Keeping parents informed of student progress and any issues that arise.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience working with children in Key Stage 2 (Years 5 and 6), ideally with experience of managing challenging behaviour and supporting SEN students.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to teaching, with the ability to adapt to a new school environment quickly.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is required.
