Your new companyHays have been approached by a High School in the Accrington area that are looking to secure a Teaching Assistant who is determined to raise standards across all levels and abilities and further contribute to the progress of our pupils. This is a temporary ongoing position, and you will join a dedicated team who ensure that every pupil is given the opportunity to achieve their full potential. This school has a very supportive and friendly staff network and there are excellent progression opportunities available.Your new roleAs a Teaching Assistant, you are responsible for providing support and assistance to the pupils, this could be within the classroom or within the schools' turn-around provision unit. It will involve working across KS3 and KS4, providing extra support on either a 1:1 or group basis, ensuring pupils are fully supported with their learning. You should be willing to assist in enabling pupils to achieve the highest standards and assist in raising attainment at all levels. You may also be working with EHCP's, so any prior knowledge on this would be beneficial, but is not essential. By being a teaching assistant, you should possess good behaviour management skills and hit the ground running by building up those relationships with pupils as well as staff.What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess recent experience working with children, the school are also willing to consider individuals from other various roles working with young adults, for example support worker roles. You should be free to start in September and commit fully to the role. SEN experience would also be desirable in this role, however the school are looking for someone to come in with an open mind and commit to the role.What you'll get in returnIn return, you will be paid a highly competitive daily rate and will be working in this successful school where you will become an integral part of a welcoming team of TA's.
