Are you an experienced and passionate Level 3 Teaching Assistant with a specialism in supporting students with behaviour needs? We are looking for a skilled and empathetic Behaviour Specialist to join our dedicated team at a thriving school in Accrington. About the Role:

As a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support to manage their behaviour and learning needs. Your role will involve:

  • Supporting students with behavioural challenges, implementing strategies and interventions to promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups with pupils to ensure they access the curriculum and thrive in a supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to develop and review Behaviour Support Plans.
  • Providing emotional support and guidance, helping students build self-regulation skills.
  • Contributing to the creation of an inclusive, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Assisting in managing challenging behaviours using positive reinforcement techniques and de-escalation strategies.
About You:

The ideal candidate will be a Level 3 Teaching Assistant with:

  • Proven experience in supporting students with a range of behavioural needs (including SEN, Autism, SEMH).
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach to managing behaviour.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A good understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques.
  • A passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning and supporting their emotional and social development.
  • Experience in developing and delivering individualised support plans is desirable.
  • A minimum of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is required.
