An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced MEP Delivery Manager to oversee and manage mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) works on a key infrastructure project. This senior role involves managing a team of MEP engineers and specialist suppliers while reporting to the Asset Lead. The role requires close collaboration with Package Managers responsible for MEP supply chains across multiple assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Subcontract Supply Chain Management:
Oversee the full contract lifecycle, from design through to construction, commissioning, and handover.
Ensure subcontractors meet contractual and technical requirements.
Manage budgets effectively, proactively controlling costs as the project progresses.
Develop and review subcontract programmes and integrate them into the wider asset programme.
Maintain accurate site records and ensure compliance with contractual documentation.
Develop risk registers and implement proactive risk management strategies.
Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities:
Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring all supply chain partners meet statutory and project-specific safety requirements.
Work collaboratively with site management and subcontractors to drive continuous improvements in safety standards.
Conduct constructability reviews to eliminate risks before construction begins.
Manage design risks throughout the design and construction phases.
Quality Management:
Ensure high-quality project delivery, identifying and mitigating quality risks.
Oversee Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and coordinate inspections with lead designers.
Develop technical solutions and engage with engineering teams to address project challenges.
Ensure all technical requirements are met to deliver a fully compliant end product.
Programme Management:
Ensure MEP works are fully integrated into the overall project schedule.
Provide weekly progress reports and review subcontractor progress updates.
Communicate project timescales clearly to the supply chain, ensuring timely delivery.
Stakeholder & Client Management:
Build and maintain strong working relationships with client representatives.
Understand client needs and work proactively to exceed expectations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Essential:
Proven experience in a similar role, overseeing the delivery of MEP systems including procurement, design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related subject).
Strong knowledge of construction techniques, sequencing, and best practices.
Experience working with NEC construction contracts.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Document Control Systems, and AutoCAD.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt to different audiences.
Relevant CSCS Card.
SMSTS/SSSTS certification.
