Commercial Finance Analyst

We are on the lookout for a commercially astute finance analyst who has a passion for data and supporting business stakeholders with insightful commercial reporting and analysis.

The Role

The successful Commercial Finance Analyst will manage the following:

  • Work with commercial leadership to financially model sales mixes, developing targets and goals to support business strategy
  • Collaborate with commercial and sales teams to determine short and long terms goals to deliver cost of sale reductions
  • Support recommendations for commission targets and business goals
  • Provide analysis on commission schemes to help ensure continuous improvement
  • Support strategy implementation by delivering the commercial plans and forecasts
  • Manage the month end process of commission actuals and forecasting
  • Maintain accurate cost of sale database
  • Oversee management staff incentive budget, reviewing activities and ensuring policies for incentive are being followed
  • Provide regular weekly reporting and dashboards to support day to day operation and decision making for sales teams.
  • Model past current and future sales channel mix
  • Provide agreed external reporting to support all commercial activities including performance vs target details
  • Work with sales team to unearth channel trends and strive to improve understanding of ROI on all investment activities to support investment decisions and future distribution strategy
  • Identifying all risks and opportunities in monthly re-forecasting for a given channel
  • Support monthly close process and working alongside cost centre managers in forecasting the SG&A budget.
  • Analyse SG&A spend across marketing and sales channels to derive ROI insights. Present these findings back to the business in a timely fashion to ensure that SG&A investment & returns have visibility to key stakeholders and budget owners.

Your Profile

We are looking for a well-educated ACCA/CIMA/ACA studier who is looking to take the next step in an analytical and partnering focused role.

Someone with a minimum of 2 years prior experience as a commercially focused management accountant, financial analyst, finance business partner or within an FP&A/commercial finance function would be ideally suited to this opportunity.

We need someone ambitious who enjoys working with data and has a commercial mindset, allied to the people skills to add value to a variety of stakeholders.

£40,000 - £45,000 + bonus and exceptional benefits, full study support is also available. This role is offered on a hybrid basis 3 days per week in office.
