As a Senior Anaesthetic Nurse, you will:
  • Deliver safe, quality care for patients during their peri-operative phase.
  • Support, coordinate, and assist in managing and organising care within the operating department.
  • Provide clinical and managerial leadership to ensure quality patient care.
  • Lead patient care delivery during lists or specified periods.
  • Ensure adherence to patient safety policies.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of yourself and others.
  • Promote best evidence-based practice within your scope.
  • Apply relevant legislation, policies, and procedures correctly.

The ideal candidate for the Senior Anaesthetic Nurse role will have:
  • Registration with NMC or HCPC.
  • Post-registration qualification relevant to the specialty.
  • Approved/recognised anaesthetic course.
  • ILS and Orthopaedic skills.
  • Mentorship qualification and ILM3.
  • Experience in an acute healthcare environment.
  • Experience in managing and leading a clinical team.
