Our client, a highly respected name in UK Construction, well-regarded for their commitment to staff development is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager to work on large-scale public building projects.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and motivate a project team of managers and specialists.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing work culture.
- Provide mentoring and performance management support.
Project Governance & Reporting:
- Monitor project progress and align it with business objectives.
- Prepare and present internal and external project updates.
- Lead regular project reviews to maintain accountability.
Commercial & Contract Management:
- Manage project budgets, cost control, and procurement processes.
- Oversee supplier relationships and ensure contractual compliance.
- Maximize resource efficiency and cost recovery.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):
- Promote a “Zero Harm” safety culture.
- Conduct site safety reviews and support incident investigations.
Quality & Continuous Improvement:
- Ensure project quality aligns with client expectations.
- Lead initiatives for efficiency and productivity improvements.
Digital & Data Leadership:
- Advocate for digital tools in construction
- Train teams on relevant digital platforms.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential:
- Proven experience leading large-scale MEP projects.
- Strong knowledge of contract forms and commercial management.
- Effective communicator at all levels.
- Skilled in budget and resource management.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to project management.
Desirable:
- BSc/MSc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Membership in professional bodies
- Certifications: APM PFQ/PMQ/PPQ or equivalent.
- Proficiency in MS Office 365 and project management tools.
