We are now recruiting a General Manager to lead one of our Specialist Cutting Tools Companies, Peter Campbell Sales.

Since 1982, Peter Campbell (Sales) Ltd, part of the Rubix group, has evolved to become a unique technical cutting tool supplier to the UK engineering and manufacturing industries. We provide a comprehensive range of metal cutting tooling and tool regrind services to all major manufacturing sectors including Oil and Gas, Aerospace and Automotive. Acquired by Rubix in 2019 PCS now form part of Rubix Cutting & Machining along with Matrix Tooling and West Country Tools.

As PCSs General Manager, you will be responsible for leading a management team based in Airdrie and an external sales team. You will have full P&L accountability and will report directly to a Rubix Senior Leadership Team member.

Job Responsibilities:

Monitor the daily operations of the business through direct reports in internal and external sales, finance, technical, logistics and operations

Set and monitor business priorities and objectives in line with budgets, delegating appropriate ownership

Work collaboratively with the leadership teams in the other Rubix Cutting & Machining Specialist Businesses, Rubix Category Management and core suppliers to deliver a market leading customer proposition

Develop and implement business strategies with the long-term goal of profitable growth and customer retention

Establish, review and improve operational policies and procedures

Collaborate with colleagues across the RUBIX business, adopt best practice and leverage cross selling opportunities for customers

Take responsibility for local communication plans

Complete monthly 1 to 1 reviews with direct reports

Drive the training agenda across all levels of the company, with support from RUBIX HR

Take responsibility for succession planning across the company, to develop and support team members in their career ambitions and aims

Support in all HR matters

Skills & Experience:

Results oriented with experience of improving profitability

Excellent organisational and leadership skills

Ability to communicate at all levels

Exceptional analytical and interpersonal skills

Proven problem solving skills

Market and industry knowledge from working in industry for 5+ years

Experience with developing business strategies and presenting those strategies for approval
