What you'll do:

As a Financial Controller in our client's team, you will be at the forefront of overseeing their financial operations within the property management activities. Your role will involve ensuring accurate financial reporting, utility management and timely production of service charge accounts. You will lead a team of property accountants, manage procurement strategies and oversee rent and service charge invoicing. Your ability to develop robust internal controls will be key in safeguarding assets and maintaining the integrity of financial information.

  • Lead the team of property accountants to ensure service charge budgets and five-year plans are produced to strict timetables.
  • Manage the procurement of estate utilities to maximise economies of scale and secure best value for the portfolio.
  • Review and approve draft payment runs in readiness for submission to BACS.
  • Oversee the production of rent and service charge invoicing.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT data for the Group VAT return.
  • Manage cash flow, treasury, and working capital.
  • Ensure compliance with UK financial regulations, accounting standards (UK GAAP/IFRS), and company policies.

What you bring:

As a Financial Controller for our client's real estate services division, your proven experience in financial management will be invaluable. You bring strong knowledge of UK financial regulations and accounting principles along with demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis. Your exceptional analytical skills coupled with your ability to solve problems will be key in this role. Your excellent leadership abilities will help you guide your team towards success.

  • Qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • At least 3-7 years of experience in a financial management role, preferably within the UK construction or property sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of UK financial regulations, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience of financial software, ideally with contract or property accounting. Experience of Qube would be advantageous.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
