A world leader in the design, manufacture and installation of seismic instrumentation used in seismology research, oil and gas exploration and production. Looking to recruit a Instrument Technician to assemble and build up components to build complex equipment, this will require someone that possesses strong Electro-Mechanical experience and qualities.

The company is engaged in a wide variety of engineering disciplines ranging from intricate mechanical design challenges requiring micron level accuracy to large scale mechanical systems, electronics and software. The company is on a sustained growth path and is looking for highly motivated individuals to join our growing team.

OBJECTIVES

The role of the Instrument Technician will be to assemble and build up the component parts to make quality products fit for purpose, efficiently and consistently.

They will support the Production Managers and Product Specialists to ensure delivery of our products, on time.

Carry out manufacturing processes accurately and efficiently;

Maintain high standards to contribute to the manufacturing process that is safe.

Interact with the company enterprise resources planning tools (Epicor) to be able to correctly book materials, parts, time and expenses to manufacturing jobs.

DUTIES

The role will involve;

  • Accurately following both documented and verbal instructions in order to build complex equipment, to high quality;
  • Mechanical small parts assembly, following clean handling processes;
  • Electrical & electronic assembly, including soldering, wiring, crimping etc;
  • Complying with established manufacturing systems and quality processes
  • Identifying opportunities to improve quality and efficiency
  • Other duties as required

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Desirable;

  • A good understanding of mechanical assembly processes
  • Experience of working within a production / manufacturing environment
  • Reasonable computer literacy
  • Experience using ERP systems, especially Epicor E10
