Contracts Manager

Basingstoke

£50,000 - £55,000 plus vehicle

The successful Contracts Manager will be joining a strong team (both office & field based) in a successful & developing business. Initially dealing with subsidence related projects (mainly residential) as well as having the opportunity to learn and develop skills to take on a variety of other projects in the future.

This role will suit someone who has experience in overseeing subsidence projects and so understands the insurance industry. Ideally having managed teams who are dealing with subsidence repairs (underpinning, piling, ground stabilisation etc.) and reinstatement works. You will need to have experience in the day-to-day hands-on management of multiple projects and be prepared to travel as required.

There are genuine opportunities to progress in the business and to train to work in other divisions to gain additional experience in civils, structural repairs and strengthening projects.

Contracts Manager job role and responsibilities

Manage a case load of residential/sub-structure subsidence related projects

Manage direct trades and sub-contractors

  • Ensure Health & Safety / CDM compliance & carry out site audits
  • Identify new contractors and trades for addition to the team as required
  • Liaising with clients
  • Dealing with variations as they arise

What skills/experience will you need?

Experience dealing with sub-structure damage to properties and managing subsidence related repair works

Working knowledge of; CDM

SMSTS (or open to gaining this)

Ideally; a building/technical related qualification such as an HNC or Building Surveying/Engineering Degree (this is not essential).

You will need strong customer service, communication & organisational skills, be IT literate and have a full UK driving licence.
