IT Project Manager with WMS Experience

Position OverviewWe’re seeking an experienced IT Project Manager with specialised knowledge in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to lead and execute end-to-end project delivery within our [Department/Operations]. In this role, you’ll oversee multiple projects focused on WMS implementation, optimisation, and integration, ensuring they align with our broader operational and business objectives. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical acumen, a strategic approach to project planning, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage WMS implementation and optimisation projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (IT, Operations, Supply Chain) to ensure WMS solutions meet both technical requirements and business objectives.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones, proactively managing project risks, issues, and changes.
  • Oversee resource allocation, budget management, and tracking of project metrics to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports on project progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Facilitate and coordinate UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and end-user training to ensure successful adoption of WMS solutions.
  • Analyze and evaluate system performance post-implementation, recommending improvements and optimisations for future efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager, with a strong focus on Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Proven experience managing WMS implementation or optimisation projects (experience with specific WMS platforms like Manhattan, SAP EWM, or Blue Yonder is a plus).
  • Project Management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or similar) is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Trello).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams, with strong stakeholder management skills.
