Our client specializes in manufacturing different gearing systems, in this role you will be supporting the design, development, implementation and maintenance of various engineering projects, improving the production process using the most cost-effective methods, with the aim of reducing the impact of production on the environment.

You will be responsible for applying your technical expertise to solve complex problems, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure the efficient operation of their systems. You will work closely with the technical and process engineers in creating process strategies, defining necessary resources, optimising existing processes, and creating and updating process guidelines and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety and reliability, using engineering principles and software such as CAD.
  • Plan and design new production processes
  • Manage projects using engineering principles and techniques.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, designers, customers and manufacturing personnel to ensure effective project execution.
  • Evaluate and dictate manufacturing routings specific to drawings in accordance with relevant customer and regulatory specifications.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment suppliers and customers.
  • Manage Engineering Change requests from Production teams.
  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends.
  • Discuss and solve complex problems with the manufacturing department.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing products and processes.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Researching and implementing opportunities to make processes more efficient.
  • Complete manufacturing projects by training and guiding technicians

Skills and Qualifications/experience:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering subject
  • Considerable process and operational knowledge through experience in a similar role
  • Have a good knowledge of tool design and manufacturing methods
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing engineering principles, in Aerospace materials
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Project management skills
  • Experience using CAD or CAM software, not essential
  • ERP system experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Takes initiative
  • Ability to lead and work independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
