Residential Support Worker
Location: Alderwasley, Derbyshire
Salary: £23,010 - £23,595 (dependant on experience & qualifications)
Job Term: Permanent appointment following a successful Probationary period
The School and Sixth Form provides exceptional education for day and residential students aged 5 to 20. They transform the lives of young people with High-Functioning ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), Asperger’s Syndrome, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and Developmental Language Disorder. They are also highly experienced in meeting associated diagnoses and needs, such as Selective Mutism, anxieties and phobias. Their goal for every one of their students is to be happy and healthy with a sense of belonging and purpose. The split school site is located within the beautiful Derbyshire countryside.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join their care team as a Residential Support Worker. As a Support Worker, you will be working within the residential setting, you will assist students with a range of care activities in the home and support students’ needs during leisure activities and school holiday periods. You will promote the student’s independence and choices at every opportunity. All staff must be flexible and willing to work shifts that include some evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.
Skills and Qualifications
- Enthusiastic, patient and understanding.

- Able to undertake a challenge and provide high standards of care to their young people.
- Also be able to work well in a team as well as using your own initiative.
- Experience of working in a similar setting with young children would be an advantage, but is not essential, as full induction and training will be provided
- Driving license and own transport
