Job Title: Design Drafter
Department: Engineering / Design
Reports To: Engineering Manager
My client, an oil and gas company based in Aberdeen, is looking for a Draughtsman to join their team.
Main Duties / Responsibilities:
- Comply with company QHSE policies.
- Develop detailed drawings under supervision.
- Produce accurate drawings per specifications and standards.
- Create technical drafts and marketing illustrations (TM drawings).
- Prepare quality documents like Engineering Check Sheets, Final Inspection Sheets, and Design Plans.
- Use SolidWorks to create manufacturing and assembly drawings, including Excel BOM.
- Conduct mechanical calculations.
- Experience with downhole tools is preferred (completions/interventions).
- Strong teamwork and MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); MS Project is an advantage.
Accountabilities:
- Maintain and communicate design changes.
- Verify drawing accuracy before assembly and testing.
Minimum Requirements:
- HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 2+ years in a similar role.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and CADWORKS.
- Knowledge of API manufacturing principles and completion equipment design.
