Job Title: Electronic Engineer (12-Month Contract)
Location: Aberdeen, Scotland
Contract Type: Full-Time, Outside IR35
Rate: £50 - 60 an hour
About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated Electronic Engineer to join our dynamic team in Aberdeen on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic systems used across a variety of cutting-edge projects. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with a strong technical background to contribute to innovative solutions within the energy and technology sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electronic circuits, schematics, and PCB layouts.
- Perform testing and validation of electronic components and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project requirements and timelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues during development and implementation phases.
- Document design processes, test results, and provide technical support where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Participate in project planning and provide input on electronic design aspects.
- Assist with prototyping, assembly, and testing of electronic hardware.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electronic Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electronic design and development.
- Proficiency with CAD software for PCB design (e.g., Altium, Eagle).
- Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design.
- Experience with microcontrollers, embedded systems, and power electronics.
- Hands-on experience with lab tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug hardware issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the energy, oil & gas, or renewable sectors.
- Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ISO, IEC, etc.).
- Familiarity with FPGAs, VHDL/Verilog programming.
- Understanding of signal processing and communication protocols.
