Project Coordinator Europe/Africa

Geo Oceans currently have a requirement for a Project Coordinator to join our project team in Aberdeen on a full time, permanent basis.

Geo Oceans are an industry-leading asset deployed mini-ROV technology and services company. We collaborate closely with our sister company Sonomatic to deploy subsea advanced NDT inspection tools and sensors from our small ROV systems, bringing innovative solutions to the subsea inspection market.

Duties/Responsibilities

The responsibilities will be varied but some of the main tasks will involve:

  • Provide support to the Europe/Africa Operations department, enhancing the efficiency and success of daily operations and contributing to the seamless execution of multiple projects and initiatives
  • Assist with proactively planning and coordinating projects, in accordance with the project plan and budget
  • Effective utilisation and monitoring of resources and equipment in accordance with project costs
  • Execute technical and administrative tasks as directed, and under the supervision of the Operations Manager where required
  • Responsible for the delivery of project documentation in support of the specific projects, in conjunction with internal resources and under the supervision of the Operations Manager
  • Perform thorough quality control on all regional technical inspection report packages, before distribution to Inspection Manager, ensuring highest professional standards of accuracy and completeness
  • Responsible for document control within UK office including upkeep and maintenance of project specific folders and documents contained within
  • Assistance with the maintenance of project management software, identifying issues and implementing improvements as necessary
  • Assist the team with the maintenance of NAS Drive data in Aberdeen
  • Responsible for PPE Inventory Management
  • Cover certain personnel logistics functions, under the direction of the Operations Manager, as and when required
  • Contribute to project scheduling and workforce planning, ensuring key milestones are achieved
  • Support in the development of procedures and system improvements, whilst identify opportunities for same
  • Prepare and reconcile project expenses for management approval, including review of cost and P&L trackers
  • Ensure all project deliverables meet the required quality standards, through rigorous review and robust quality control processes
  • Initial set up of new projects within company ERP system as required
  • Comply with Sonomatic/Geo Oceans Group HSEQ and HR Policies and Procedures
  • Promote Sonomatic/Geo Oceans Group Values in everyday activities

What qualifications and experience would we like you to have?

  • HNC/HND in Business, Engineering or Science subject (Desirable)
  • Minimum 3 years operational / project environment experience in the Oil and Gas industry
  • Strong capabilities in Microsoft office packages including Projects, complete with knowledge in the use of project management software
  • Proven track record of achieving goals in rapidly changing environments and ability to multitask effectively
  • Creative and adaptable in the ability to manage new challenges
  • Works closely with others to maximise team achievements and effectiveness through developing relationships and continuous sharing of knowledge and ideas
  • Excellent attention to detail and interpretation of documentation
  • Creative solutions focus for excellence in service delivery efficiencies
  • Driven and focused with a willingness to further develop
