Fast Pace Recruitment Services are working with a valued client who are currently looking to recruit an Care Home Manager. We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated Care Home Manager to join a forward-thinking and innovative care home operator. You will support elderly residents with their medical, emotional & social needs and play a key role with the ongoing development of the care home and quality of care provided whilst ensuring all regulatory care standards are exceeded.
The Role:
You will undertake a range of services which include the following:
- Responsible for setting & embedding the highest standards of care to ensure the Care Home receives the best possible grades from the Care Inspectorate.
- Responsible for the day-to-day marketing of the Care Home to ensure full occupancy levels are reached with a waiting list in place.
- Responsible for managing the Care Homes P&L to maximise revenue, reduce agency spend and to drive efficiency.
- Lead and support a team consisting of Deputy Nurse Manager, Unit Nurse Managers, Nurses, Carers and Domestic/Administration staff, bringing out the best in your colleagues.
- Train, support and develop a team of staff, helping them develop and thrive in their roles.
- Provide support to Area/Regional Manager ensuring quality standards and operations remain consistent.
- Collaborate closely with residents, their families and healthcare professionals to create and implement care plans that are unique to each resident.
- Observe daily interactions and conditions, ensuring all care documentation is precise, legal, and easily understood by the team.
- Start each shift by organizing and guiding your team, ensuring everyone knows their role in delivering top-notch care.
- Oversee shift handovers, ensuring clear communication and continuity of care.
- Perform routine observations and manage specific health needs, always with an eye on detail and safety.
- Safely manage and administer medications, adhering strictly to MAR sheets and protocols.
- Foster strong, trusting relationships with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals, addressing concerns with empathy and urgency.
- Support residents in daily activities, encouraging autonomy while providing hands-on assistance as needed.
- Be responsive to team input, ensuring resident health and well-being are always prioritised.
- Uphold the dignity and individuality of every resident, advocating for their needs and preferences.
- Facilitate social interactions and activities, enriching the lives of residents and creating a vibrant community.
- Maintain a vigilant eye on health and safety, ensuring a secure environment for all.
- Advocate for balanced nutrition and hydration, monitoring residents at risk of weight changes or dehydration.
- Be prepared to act swiftly in emergencies, utilizing the on-call system and reflective practices to continually improve our care.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse qualification. (Must have valid NMC pin with no restrictions or conditions)
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Care Home/Deputy Nurse Manager with in-depth knowledge of regulatory care standards.
- Able to work as an independent & autonomous Care Home Manager.
- A good team player who possesses effective communication & relationship building skills.
- A pro-active & motivated person who endeavours all types of challenges.
- A valid Full UK driving licence. (Desired but not essential)
