Astute Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and detail-orientated Accounts Assistant to join our Alfreton based client’s finance team. This role will play a crucial part in maintaining the financial health of the company by supporting various accounting tasks and ensuring accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare weekly payment runs for overseas companies for approval
  • Complete daily bank account reconciliations for both UK and overseas companies
  • Review and verify bank transaction postings for the UK and overseas companies
  • Process payments and resolve issues for overseas suppliers
  • Maintain and reconcile vendor ledgers for overseas operations
  • Handle intercompany postings and reconcile balances
  • Collate documentation for factory payments to provide to the bank
  • Communicate with customers and suppliers via telephone and email
  • Process and prepare month-end reports
  • Support credit card and personal expense claims
  • Provide administrative support to the Finance Team and the wider business as required

Candidate Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, including entering basic financial information
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Effective communication skills at all levels
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently when needed
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines

Benefits and hours:

  • Salary up to £27,675 depending on experience
  • Flexible hybrid working
  • Early finish on Fridays
  • Working hours 8:30am - 5:30pm, Monday to Thursday
