Our client, operating in the water sector, is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join their Infrastructure - Water North team. This permanent role is based in Derbyshire / South Yorkshire, primarily operating from Alfreton. You will become an integral part of the project team, playing a crucial role in the commissioning management of mechanical, electrical, and public health services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review tender documentation and prepare necessary submission documentation related to commissioning and handover
- Conduct comprehensive commissioning reviews at the design stage, scrutinising mechanical and electrical specifications, drawings, schematics, and equipment selections
- Prepare commissioning procedures and detailed commissioning plans and strategies
- Liaise with the project team, building services managers, clients, consultants, and services sub-contractors
- Attend commissioning meetings with project teams and review sub-contractor commissioning method statements
- Prepare weekly progress and monthly status reports, identifying any potential issues
- Conduct site visits prior to planned commissioning to ensure readiness
- Organise and facilitate client and consultant witnessing of successful commissioning, including sign-off
- Ensure compliance and sign-off with relevant statutory authorities
- Collate all mechanical and electrical commissioning documentation for O&M manuals
- Organise client systems demonstrations and address commissioning/snags post-completion

- SMSTS safety qualification
