Benefits: Company vehicle & comprehensive benefits package The role of the Contracts Manager - Steelwork will involve:

  • Contracts Manager position dealing with a range of steelwork projects such as: chimneys, flue, platforms & access, walkways, secondary steelwork, specialist steelwork, staircases, and support structures
  • Read and interpreting technical drawings to gain an understanding of requirements
  • Oversee projects from cradle to grave
  • Regular liaison with clients to update on project status and gather any further technical information required
  • Producing RAMS & H&S documentation for projects
  • Resource and allocate labour / subcontractors
  • Produce lift plans if qualified
  • Overall financial control and appraisal of each project, managing variations where necessary
  • Build and develop relationships with clients to encourage repeat business
  • Managing projects ranging in value from £5k - £2.5m+

The ideal applicant will be Contracts Manager - Steelwork with:

  • Must have Contracts Manager / Project Manager experience within the steel fabrication / steelwork industry
  • Would consider Trainee / Assistant Manager’s looking to take the step up
  • Ideally will have Appointed Person qualification
  • Strong technical understanding of secondary steelwork is highly advantageous
  • IT literate (Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Full UK driving license
  • Stable career background, no job hoppers
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels both written and verbal
  • Effective time management, leadership and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
