- Help set up and deliver the future direction of the client’s strategy and approach to the management, storage and usage of data
- Collaborate with their wider technology and business teams to ensure goals and visions are aligned and achieved
- Help with setting up their data warehousing and lake processes, including collaborating with their architecture teams to figure out what that will look like
- At times, guide and mentor the junior data engineers within the team, reviewing their ideas, providing feedback and identifying their knowledge gaps to support their development
- Strong experience with setting up and using big data storage solutions, including data warehouses, data lakes or data lake houses
- Able to build and demonstrate a solid understanding of the concepts of real time data streaming, batch data processing and data transformation processes
- Must have experience with Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, Kafka and Python
- Any exposure to data migration/ETL would be highly beneficial, with SQL/T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS and SSAS, as there is a large data migration project in the near future
- Any previous experience with setting up data governance and processes would be highly beneficial
