Estimator Job Overview

Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials and labour to ensure competitive and compliant tender submissions.
Review technical specifications, structural reports, and architectural details to assess project feasibility.
Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams throughout the tender process, attending pre- and post-tender meetings.
Collaborate with design, production, and site teams to ensure practical project execution and procurement alignment.
Monitor commercial aspects of ongoing projects, including variations, cost control, and financial reporting.
Maintain project data in CRM and ERP systems, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting for senior management.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimising processes and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Estimator Job Requirements

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong technical knowledge of construction drawings, technical specifications, and procurement strategies.
Good understand of industry software such as MS Project, AutoCAD, Trimble (desirable but not essential).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Understanding of NEC and JCT contracts (preferred).
Full driving license

Estimator Salary & Benefits

£30,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
20 days of holiday per year plus Bank Holidays.
