Due to continued expansion, we're recruiting an experienced Health and Safety Officer to join our well established client.
The Health and Safety Officer will play a key role in the development and delivery of the company’s health and safety improvement plans for all operations. Under the direction of the site H&S Manager, the H&S Officer will work closely with site Managers, Supervisors and Operators to influence positive change in how to approach risk reduction activities, including: identifying opportunities for improvement; project support activities; and continuous safety coaching and training.
Summary:
- The H&S Officer will be required to complete audits, assessments, and inspections to determine where risk improvements can be made whilst also ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
Key Objectives:
- Implement risk improvement action plans to support operational improvement.
- Support risk assessment activities to positively influence the reduction of the site health and safety risks and associated financial costs.
- Analyse and report health and safety performance to internal and external clients.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and keep up to date with UK and International regulation and legislation.
- Develop the occupational health and safety management system and liaise with the Internal Audit team to deliver continuous improvement.
- Coaching employees to enhance their development and to assist them in fulfilling their individual and collective H&S responsibilities.
- Consult with all internal stakeholder on health and safety matters and lead the implementation of safe systems of work.
- Support workplace campaigns to promote increased awareness of local or group-wide safety improvements.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills that enable influence with colleagues.
- Able to cope with numerous issues simultaneously and capable of prioritising tasks accordingly.
- A genuine interest in health and safety issues and how this role can influence a positive change.
- Analytical ability with understanding of how to utilise systems to carry out problem solving.
- Understanding of health and safety legislation.
- Competent in hazard identification and risk control.
- Ability to deliver safety coaching and training.
- Experience of working in manufacturing.
This is a Full time, Permanent position.
Working hours: Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm.
Salary: £36,000 Per Annum.
