THE ROLE:?

In this Health, Safety and Environmental Manager role you will take the lead in strategic and operational HSE activities to ensure the business continues to meet both it's legal obligations and it's own targets.

You will promote safety awareness and compliance as well as delivering operational and project support, engaging regularly and cohesively with colleagues at all levels to ensure the highest levels of stakeholder engagement.?

NOTE: This is a very significant role in terms of depth, scope and knowledge but within a compact operational environment so team working, communication and interpersonal skills will be critical to success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your Health, Safety and Environmental responsibilities will include:?

  • Ensuring compliance with the company's Health and Safety, Environmental and quality management policies and that legal and regulatory requirements are met and embedded in the culture of the business.

  • Maintaining all current permits and accreditations, managing and controlling assessments by external bodies.

  • Coaching, training and briefing staff in all HSE areas.

  • Facilitating HSE forums and ensuing actions.?

  • Writing and updating safety and emergency procedures.

  • Performing risk analysis and supporting projects.

  • Incident / accident investigations and corrective actions.

  • Internal audit and key person for external HSE audits.

  • Management and higher level reporting and HSE lead on the senior team.

?THE CANDIDATE:?

To apply you should have:

  • Strong practical experience in HSE, ideally in a manufacturing or closely related organisation involving industrial plant / processes and equipment.

  • A current understanding of the application of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.

  • ?The ability to manage your own workload and projects.

  • Well developed coaching, communication and influencing skills. Appropriate professional qualifications (NEBOSH / IOSH etc. full or part qualified).

  • Experience of the application of relevant ISO standards including 45001 and 14001.

  • Experience of managing a COMAH site is necessary.?

  • Commitment to achieving personal, team and business objectives.?
