TRANSPORT CLERK

SUNDAY- THURSDAY:10.00PM - 6.00AM

PAY RATE: £12.82- £13.84 PER HOUR

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Transport Clerk to join our well-established client based in Alfreton, Derbyshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and room to grow and progress.

The ideal candidate must undergo a DBS check for this role.

Day to Day Duties

  • Deal with incoming/outgoing telephone calls in a polite and confident manner
  • Communicate with clients regarding transportation options
  • Carry out all traffic office functions in line with company policies and procedures
  • Track and trace shipments
  • Maintain accurate records of transportation costs, schedules and services
  • Monitor freight costs and report any issues
  • Organise and coordinate transportation routes
  • To check all information contained on the system is accurate at all times
  • Ensure clear communication with drivers regarding activity allocation and conduct debriefing upon their return
  • Complete all daily reports by the end of each shift

Essential Skills

  • Skilled in communicating clearly and effectively across various mediums (written, verbal, interpersonal, and telephone) with diverse individuals on a variety of topics
  • Capable of working independently within broad guidelines
  • Proactive and able to work under pressure, adapting quickly to change and responding effectively
  • Resilient and able to excel in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
  • Background in working within a transport operation
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the United Kingdom
  • Strong understanding of transport legal requirements and responsibilities
  • IT literate
  • Must undergo a DBS check
