Job Title Financial Accountant

Location: Stansted (Office Based)

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Job Type: Permanent/Full-time – 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

About the role: To support the finance functions of Harrods Aviation Ltd and Air Harrods Ltd.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Capability to produce monthly management accounts to a high standard.
  • Assisting with preparing financial statements that reflect a company's financial position, including the balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement.
  • Keeping track of a company's financial transactions, including sales and expenses, to ensure they're accurate.
  • Assisting with developing and managing budgets for companies.
  • Analysing financial data using financial ratios, trend analysis and other techniques to identify areas for improvement.
  • Assisting with preparing and filing tax returns for a company.
  • Ad-hoc projects.

About you:

Financial analysis

  • Using financial data, such as historical data, market trends and historical data, using various metrics, ratios and techniques to make informed decisions.
  • Assess this data to identify trends and patterns in financial statements to understand a company's current performance.
  • Assists them in making decisions regarding budgeting, forecasting and investment opportunities.
  • Identify areas of non-compliance to take corrective action.
  • Strong excel skills and other analytical data manipulation skills

Knowledge of accounting software

  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and or other accounting packages or ERP systems

Financial reporting

  • Up to date knowledge of UK GAAP
  • Working knowledge of International Standards
  • Awareness of audit procedures and standards
  • Strong corporate governance knowledge
  • ESG and environmental reporting

Budgeting and forecasting

  • Ability to take data and create sound budgets
  • Use up to date data to create accurate and flexible forecasting

Communication and collaboration

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential to success in this role.

Adaptability

  • Open to learning new techniques, showing initiative in optimising financial processes and keeping a positive attitude in the workplace.

ACA, ACCA or CIMA or equivalent with a minimum of 3 year's PQE
