Cedar is partnered with one of the largest providers in the healthcare sector, dedicated to delivering exceptional mental health care across nearly 100 trading sites in the UK. Our client is committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment, focused on patient care and innovation in mental health services, and they are seeking a Group Financial Accountant to join their team.

The role will play a vital part in group reporting, managing the annual audit process, and overseeing their treasury function, whilst also working closely with the Group Financial Controller and CFO.

Key Responsibilities of the Group Financial Accountant are:

Financial Reporting & Consolidation

  • Prepare the monthly consolidation pack, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Produce monthly balance sheet reconciliations and act as the primary contact for all related queries and analyses.

Accounting Management

  • Oversee group accounting for lease liabilities (IFRS 16) and interest costs, including consolidation journals.
  • Account for transactions within the group's five main holding companies.
  • Produce statutory accounts for 45 entities across the UK, aligning with the group's year-end in June.

Collaboration & Compliance

  • Collaborate with the Group Financial Controller to meet monthly, quarterly, and yearly deadlines.
  • Deliver high-quality financial information to the Senior Management Team, including balance sheets, cash flow statements, and working capital analyses.
  • Stay updated on new accounting standards and ensure compliance.

Technical Documentation

  • Prepare technical accounting papers for corporate activities and support subjective accounting judgements.

Team Development

  • Assist in developing and evolving group-wide controls, systems, and processes.
  • Support the external audit process and manage the relationship with auditors.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • ACA Qualified.
  • Strong technical background with 'Big 4' training.
  • Experience with complex consolidations.

Package:

  • £70,000 - £80,000 (experience dependent).
