Our client are specialists in their market sector, they are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

The Job youll do

Create conceptual design work in support of bearing tenders, and detail design work for contracts and new product development.
Produce and manage models and engineering drawings within the companys computer aided design (CAD) systems.
Perform bearing performance calculations using specific software.
Perform structural strength of materials calculations to support bearing designs.
Participate in design review meetings.
Liaise with other departments, customers and suppliers in support of the above tasks.
Prepare lists of parts that form the framework for a bill of materials.
Generate and transfer the required departmental design documentation.
Maintain component part records in the company database systems, as well as other documents required by business quality system processes.
Create the most cost effective designs.
Work in a safe manner and lead by example with regard to the companys health, safety and environmental policies.

About You

To apply, you must be educated to HNC level or equivalent in mechanical engineering with the ability to demonstrate knowledge of the strength of materials.
We also ask that you have experience of designing castings, fabrications and precision machined, close-tolerance, turned and milled components.
Familiarity of international standards or directives related to the design and testing of products for use in naval, nuclear and hazardous area applications would be beneficial.
Were looking for someone who has excellent 3D CAD modelling and 2D technical drawing skills (preferably Creo or Pro/Engineer).
An understanding of MathCAD, Windchill and Microsoft Office applications.
This position will be on a full time, permanent basis, working 37 hours a week onsite.
