Currently seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support a short-term (1-month) project on-site at a customer facility in Luton.
The support will primarily be leading the preparation process on a number of mechanical and electrical First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
Responsibilities:
- Complete a thorough and accurate preparation of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in line with the customer and AS9102 requirements.
- Work with customer personnel to gain access to / obtain all the required supporting documentation to support the preparation / completion of the FAIRs.
- Where issues are identified, work with the customer to identify potential solutions to ensure the FAIR preparation process can proceed.
- Provide concise feedback to customer quality, engineering and design teams on roadblocks and facilitate feedback.
- Maintain FAI tracker for review status, outcome and any issues identified.
Role Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years, in the last 5 years, aerospace experience in either a quality engineering or manufacturing engineering capacity
- Strong and robust working knowledge of AS9102 at the current revision, in addition to a sound understanding of the requirements of AS9100.
- The ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, supported by a strong aerospace / defence mechanical and electrical background
- Ability to articulate FAI issues both verbally and in writing
- Strong computer skills, specifically with the use of Microsoft Office applications and custom databases.
