We are looking for experienced Systems Design Engineers to assist our client who is a market leader within the Nuclear industry, involved in a cutting edge project for a new type of Power Station.
SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEER ROLE
Lead the design of one of the Reactor Island systems within the Duty systems or Safety systems team.
Liaise with the key stakeholders, ie. Chemistry, Safety, Systems Engineering and Thermal Hydraulic performance teams to define and allocate requirements, and drive the design through the RR-SMR gated review process to achieve maturity targets in line with the agreed schedule. Present the design progression to the Senior Manager/ Chief Design Engineer.
Produce and update design documentation, which for a system comprises the System Description, P&ID, FBoM, Requirements package and sizing calculations. Documentation may also include decision records that demonstrate how key decisions have been taken with relevant BAT and ALARP considerations. Ensure key transverse areas are engaged to comply with Design for X requirements, ie. Commissioning, through life activities and system operability.
SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEER EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Experience in process engineering principles.
Experience in progressing concept design and design uncertainties.
Experience in pressure drop/ fluid flow and component sizing calculations.
Minimum of a bachelor's engineering/physics degree.
Experience in owning and managing your own package of work or system
