We're looking for an experienced Business Development professional for this dynamic technology company. Do you have experience selling a SaaS product, possess strong client management skills and great communication skills? If so, wed love to hear from you.

Our client is an award-winning technology company. Experts in Modelling, Simulation, Data Science and AI, they combine these to build tools and models to solve the toughest problems, enabling better decision-making. They work across a range of sectors including Defence and Security, Cyber, Aerospace, Infrastructure, Management, Water and Electricity. Clients include: Rolls-Royce, Siemens, Microsoft, Thames Water, Babcock International, GlaxoSmithKline and numerous utility companies.

The Role

This role will have responsibility for managing leads, building client relationships, and closing deals for analytics software, training and services. The primary focus will be on proactive outreach to potential clients and responding to inbound leads across multiple channelsphone, email, and social media.

This role will leverage lead generation tools, and HubSpot CRM, to nurture interest in solutions, and track sales opportunities. The position requires gaining a thorough understanding of the products and services, target customers, and competitive alternative technologies. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Market Engagement: Proactively engage with prospects to spark interest in the software articulating their value proposition, and identifying client needs.
  • Lead Conversion: Manage and nurture leads using tools like HubSpot CRM, converting them into qualified opportunities and closed sales.
  • Solution Selling: Conduct high-level discussions with B2B and B2C clients, presenting software features and its application in industries like supply chain, healthcare, and manufacturing.
  • Collaborative Innovation: Work closely with product, technical, and training teams to align offerings with customer needs and gather feedback to improve the product.
  • Sales Strategy: Maintain accurate records of interactions, pipeline stages, and feedback in CRM systems to ensure strategic alignment and progress tracking.
  • Target Achievement: Meet monthly and quarterly activity and sales targets, ensuring consistent growth in revenue and market presence.

The Candidate

  • Sales and Client Management: Minimum 1 year of experience in a sale based, customer facing role is essential.
  • Technical Acumen: Familiarity with or enthusiasm to learn about our enabling toolkits and their applications in solving complex business problems.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to assess client needs, present tailored solutions, and explain technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proactive and Adaptable: High energy, a growth mindset, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving Aptitude: An ability to approach challenges methodically and propose innovative solutions.

The Terms

  • Base salary of circa £38,500 (FTE*) dependent on experience.
  • On Target Earnings of £55K FTE* uncapped
  • The role is based remotely, although you should expect to meet face to face with various members of the team for training in the first few weeks. There is an office base in Leicestershire, or these meetings may be at a convenient point for the successful candidate and other team members.
    Minimum24 hours per week, ideally to be worked across the week. Up to full-time. Please indicate your preference on application.
