Job Role: Business Development Project OfficerLocation: NewtownabbeyHours: Monday- Friday 9-5pmPay: £18.26 per hourMAIN PURPOSE OF JOBThe post holder will be responsible for implementing a wide range of economic development programmes which contribute to the development of the local economy, in line with the Council's Corporate and Economic Development objectives, regional strategies and sub-regional approaches such as Belfast Region City Deal.This role is to support the Economic Development Section's Business Development Officer positions. It will involve contributing to the Section's project development process through the delivery, vouching and monitoring of a range of projects that benefit the local economy and local businesses.The post holder will deliver events, networking activities and international initiatives to promote the economic development of the Borough. They will work directly with businesses, training providers, tourism providers delivery agents appointed to deliver services on the Council's behalf and third-party stakeholder organisations. The role will also focus on monitoring and evaluating the impact of the Council's economic development services to ensure they meet economic need.The work programme will be a mix of local and regional interventions supported directly by Council and through a range of funding sources and partners including European Regional Development Fund's Investment for Growth & Jobs Programme, Invest NI, European Social Funds, Shared Prosperity Funds, Belfast Region City Deal, PEACE and Central Government Departments, including Department for the Economy, Department for Communities and the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs and Tourism NI.Qualifications:A relevant third level qualification on the UK Qualification and Credit Framework at level 4 and above e.g. Business related disciplineOrPossess a minimum of 3 years' recent experience as belowExperience:Possess a minimum of 1 years' recent experience in a wide range of economic development activities in one or more of the following disciplines:- Economic Development- Rural Development- Community DevelopmentKey Skills & Abilities:- Good planning and organising skills- Good administrative & financial skills- Good communication skills (written & verbal)- Displays a positive attitude including a solution based, flexible and enthusiastic approach- Maintain a high standard of quality and accuracy- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and ExcelTo apply for this role, please complete the form below by filling out your name and contact details, and attaching your CV.
