We are searching for a Head Chef to join a prestigious dining establishment in Preston, known for its commitment to exceptional culinary standards and a locally sourced menu. This role offers the opportunity to lead a professional kitchen team in a vibrant gastropub setting, renowned for its traditional British cuisine and innovative approach.
Head Chef Key Responsibilities:
- Design and regularly update menus to reflect seasonal availability, emphasizing local and sustainable ingredients
- Lead, inspire, and manage the kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and high performance
- Ensure all dishes are prepared with attention to detail and consistent quality, enhancing the dining experience for all guests
- Oversee all kitchen operations including inventory control, budget management, and compliance with health and safety standards
- Maintain strong relationships with local suppliers to ensure the provision of high-quality ingredients
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen according to regulatory guidelines
Head Chef Ideal Candidate:
- Extensive experience as a Head Chef, preferably in a gastropub or high-end restaurant setting, with a solid track record of kitchen management
- Strong foundation in British cuisine with the ability to innovate and present creative dishes
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of motivating and developing a team
- Competent in managing kitchen budgets, logistics, and operations efficiently
