Incredible Seafood Restaurant on the Isle of Wight looking for a Senior Sous Chef to Join their Successful Restaurant Team.


Position Title: Senior Sous Chef
Location: Isle of Wight
Salary: £55,000 to £65,00
Shifts: 4/5 Doubles - 2/3 Days Off (busy period)



Key Highlights:

  • 12 Yearly Contract - 9.5 Months working / 2.5 months off

  • Mid December through to February is PTO during the off season

  • Accommodation Provided for the First 3 Months while you Search for Somewhere

  • Up to 600 Covers During the Busy Season


Smyth & Co. is proud to present this incredible opportunity on the Isle of Wight for an experienced Senior Sous Chef to join the team of this amazing Seafood Restaurant on the Coast. You will be working with the best produce the island has to offer, and cooking incredible dish creations, while assisting with further menu development. This dynamic working style is ideal for people that enjoy seasonal breaks & holidays and are looking for a new and exciting challenge!


Requirements:

  • Extensive experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-end restaurant or fine dining establishment, with a strong focus on seafood preparation and cooking techniques.

  • In-depth knowledge of seafood sourcing, handling, and preparation, including expertise in various cleaning, filleting, and cooking methods for different types of fish and shellfish.

  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute innovative seafood dishes that reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends while maintaining high standards of presentation and flavor.

  • Proven leadership skills with experience in managing kitchen staff, training junior chefs, and fostering a positive and productive kitchen culture.

  • Strong understanding of menu planning, food costing, and inventory management, with a focus on maximizing quality while minimizing waste.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and ensure timely service during peak hours.
