We are seeking a talented Sous Chef to join a boutique hotel as we introduce an exciting new menu for the 2025 season. Day-to-day of the role:
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and introduce a new menu that reflects seasonal availability and current culinary trends.
- Manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring seamless service and quality.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, promoting a culture of high standards and continuous improvement.
- Maintain effective relationships with local suppliers and growers to ensure the procurement of high-quality ingredients.
- Uphold the kitchen's food safety and cleanliness standards.
- Experiment with new dishes and techniques, contributing to menu diversity and innovation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef, ideally in a boutique hotel or similar environment.
- Experience working in kitchens with up to one rosette is highly desirable.
- Strong ability to source and collaborate with local suppliers and growers.
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage a team under pressure.
- Creative culinary skills with a passion for innovation and quality.
- Professional culinary qualification is preferred.
