Job Title: Sous Chef
Location: Boutique Hotel, Cheshire (Near Manchester Airport)
Salary: £37,500 + Tronc
Contract: Flexible 4-Day Working Week

This is an exciting opportunity to join a prestigious, family-run business with over 200 years of history. With more than 150 pubs and hotels across the UK, the company prides itself on delivering outstanding service and exceptional experiences. The boutique hotel in Cheshire, located just a stone's throw from Manchester Airport, offers a unique environment with a bespoke menu created from the finest local, fresh produce. The hotel also hosts a range of events and banqueting services for up to 120 guests.

About the Role:

The hotel is looking for a Sous Chef to join its talented kitchen brigade, working closely with the Head Chef to maintain the highest culinary standards. You will play an integral role in both the day-to-day kitchen operations and special events, ensuring that guests enjoy exceptional food every time they visit.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in creating and preparing a bespoke menu focused on fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
  • Leading the kitchen team, ensuring smooth operations and consistent food quality.
  • Stepping in to oversee the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
  • Managing food preparation and presentation to the highest standards.
  • Supporting and overseeing the execution of events and banqueting services for up to 120 guests.
  • Maintaining health and safety standards across the kitchen.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-quality kitchen environment (Premium Pub/Hotel)
  • A passion for using fresh, local produce to create innovative dishes.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage and inspire a team.
  • A proactive approach to kitchen operations with a focus on cleanliness, organisation, and safety.
  • Experience with banqueting and event catering would be beneficial, but not essential.
