Role: Project Engineer
Location: North-East England, hybrid working available.

Turner Lovell are recruiting for a skilled Project Engineer to work across multiple energy projects throughout the UK.
Our client is an international engineering, electrical & construction organisation, who have strong pipelines in the major renewable energy and power generation sectors, across the UK & Ireland. About the role:
Joining a well-established team of experts in the Transmission & Distribution sector - this role will see you coordinating and managing equipment design projects while working closely with Design Engineers, Technical Leads, and Procurement teams.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management

  • Oversee and coordinate assigned design and engineering work packages
  • Collaborate with Technical Lead Engineers and Procurement Officers
  • Manage supplier and subcontractor relationships from initial engagement through project completion

Technical Oversight

  • Coordinate factory acceptance testing procedures
  • Monitor and participate in critical acceptance testing
  • Evaluate supplier and subcontractor performance
  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications and quality standards

Risk Management & Reporting

  • Identify and communicate potential risks and opportunities
  • Track and report project variations
  • Prepare monthly progress reports for stakeholders
  • Maintain quality assurance documentation

Stakeholder Management

  • Participate in customer-facing meetings
  • Address technical queries and concerns
  • Manage design risk discussions
  • Coordinate with site personnel and commissioning engineers
  • Facilitate communication between project teams and stakeholders

Core Requirements

  • Experience in Transmission & Distribution industry
  • Strong understanding of substation systems (Primary & Secondary)
  • Knowledge of industry standards and technologies
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety regulations and Risk Management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative
  • Proven ability to work independently
