I'm working with a leading engineering consultancy based in the UK, currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer with extensive experience in the UK water sector to join our dynamic team. This position offers the chance to play a pivotal role in major infrastructure projects, contribute to the development of critical systems, and uphold our dedication to engineering excellence.

Projects

  • Infrastructure: Work on key projects such as trunk mains, distribution mains, and strategic connections.
  • Non-Infrastructure: Focus on civil and structural modifications at production sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management:

    • Lead and manage projects from inception to completion.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to project teams.
    • Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  2. Client Relations:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective communication and project management.
    • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver customized solutions.
  3. Team Collaboration:

    • Work seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, structural engineers, and environmental specialists.
    • Promote a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
  4. Quality Control:

    • Implement stringent quality control measures to ensure the integrity of engineering designs.
    • Review project deliverables to ensure they meet the highest standards.
  5. Innovation and Sustainability:

    • Stay informed about industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices.
    • Contribute to innovative engineering solutions and sustainable practices.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or equivalent experience in the industry.
  • At least 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognized institution (e.g., ICE) is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and advanced structural analysis tools.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methodologies, and materials.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A strong commitment to safety, sustainability, and excellence in engineering practices.

The role is 95% office based in Berkshire - the working hours are flexible as long as you are completing your 40hr week.
