Role: Building Regulations Principal Designer x 3

Location: Projects across London/ South East (remote working)

Sector: CDM/ Principal Designer practice

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 + bonus scheme + attractive benefits package

WRG have partnered with an independent CDM/ Principal Designer consultancy, they are looking to appoint an experienced building control professionals to sit within a recently established BSA sister company and deliver the Building Regs PD service to clients.

The business operates across London & South East, working with a range of clients and delivering a CDM/ PD service on projects from £300k up to £500m. They have developed an excellent reputation within the industry which has lead to repeat business and their brand growing from strength to strength.

They are now looking to hire experienced building control professionals, ideally from an Approved Inspector background due to the commercial nature of their projects, to develop a new business which will have the full support and backing of our client. They oversee a portfolio of projects in the residential, commercial, retail, office, leisure, hotel, industrial, manufacturing, sport and education sectors, and the sister company will work alongside these already established relationships.

The role has been created off the back of the changes happening in the industry related to the Building Safety Act, and the business wanting to integrate their PD and BSA service offering to help its clients navigate these changes and ensure that building regs compliance is achieved.

The role would suit client facing, commercially minded and driven individuals, someone who wants to grow a business during an exciting time in the sector.

Duties:

  • Carryout building control inspections, site visits, surveys and prepare reports.
  • Offer advice around the Building Safety Act.
  • Liaise with Principal Designer, Principal Contractor, Architects, Design teams and other parties to ensure compliance on projects.
  • Undertake plan checks submitted for Building Regulation approval.
  • Inspect properties and buildings at key stages of the building process.
  • Attend client and design team meetings to offer professional input relation to building regs compliance.
  • Provide technical advice to clients, contractors, developers, colleagues, and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are completed in line with current building regulations and legislation.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management or similar discipline.
  • Membership to RICS, CABE or CIOB.
  • Experience of inspecting buildings and properties.
  • Excellent knowledge of BSA, building regulations, codes and legislation.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Class 2 or 3 registered.
