Company Vehicle:A company van will be provided for all work-related travel, including fuel and associated costs.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Service Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including reactive maintenance, annual planned preventative maintenance (PPM), small installations, wiring, and detection works. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the safety of domestic and commercial properties across East Anglia (Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, and Essex).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reactive Maintenance: Responding promptly to service calls, diagnosing faults, and carrying out repairs to fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and other fire safety equipment.
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Conducting regular inspections and servicing of fire systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulations.
  • Small Installations: Installing new fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and other fire safety equipment in domestic and commercial properties.
  • Wiring: Running cables, terminating wires, and connecting devices to ensure the proper functioning of fire safety systems.
  • Detection Works: Installing and maintaining smoke detectors, heat detectors, and other fire detection devices.
  • Customer Service: Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, providing technical advice and support, and ensuring their satisfaction with our services.
  • Travel and Flexibility: You must be willing to travel throughout the specified areas of East Anglia (Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, and Essex), including some out-of-hours shifts, nights, and weekends as required.Weekend and night shifts will be paid at an overtime rate.

Qualifications and Skills:

Essential:

  • Level 2 electrical qualification (or equivalent)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Proven experience in fire alarm systems and emergency lighting
  • Strong technical knowledgeand troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • FIA units or equivalent fire industry qualifications
  • Experience with addressable and conventional fire alarm systems
  • Knowledge of BS 5839 and other relevant fire safety standards
