Our client is looking for a Garment Technologist with Minimum 7 years experience within a Technical role. 5 years of Jersey product experience.

Job Roles and Responsibilities:

Workbook Creation & Maintenance: Design comprehensive workbooks detailing construction methods, fit comments, and graded specifications for a variety of product styles, ensuring all technical information is clearly documented and easily accessible.
Fit Session Preparation & Execution: Prepare garments for fit sessions, updating workbooks and ensuring all construction details and components are accurate. Lead fit sessions for new designs, ensuring designers are satisfied with the products aesthetics and functionality.
Product Quality Assurance: Ensure all products meet company standards for fit and quality, making sure they are fit for purpose, durable, and meet customer expectations. Collaborate with designers to achieve the perfect balance between design vision and practical execution.
Supplier Communication & Collaboration: Send clear, detailed fit amendments and specification changes to suppliers, complete with images and annotations for clarity. Build strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers to improve communication and streamline the production process.
Construction & Cost Optimization: Provide expert guidance on construction techniques and methods that enhance both the quality and cost-effectiveness of products, ensuring optimal results in manufacturing and customer satisfaction.
Production Oversight & Problem Solving: Monitor the entire production process, swiftly addressing any issues that arise to ensure timelines and quality standards are maintained. Conduct shipment sample approvals and oversee product testing to guarantee compliance with AQL standards.
Compliance & Certification Support: Stay updated on transparency legislation and sustainability initiatives, supporting factories in gaining necessary certifications. Lead efforts to ensure that supply chain and factory audits are up-to-date and meet industry requirements.
Innovation & Process Improvement: Contribute to streamlining and optimizing technical processes, from reducing the number of fit samples for greater sustainability to setting up new quality manuals and systems to enhance the operational efficiency of the technical department.
Customer-Centric Problem Solving: Track product returns, identifying trends and underlying issues to prevent recurring problems in future productions. Actively contribute to initiatives aimed at reducing customer returns and improving overall product satisfaction.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to align on business objectives and contribute to the companys strategy, ensuring all products are aligned with both customer and market needs.
Industry Leadership & Innovation: Conduct regular reviews of fit blocks and grading to stay ahead of competitors, ensuring continuous improvement in product fit. Advise on wash care instructions and make recommendations for improvements in testing and compliance standards.
Factory & Supplier Visits: Build and maintain strong relationships through regular factory visits and hands-on collaboration, ensuring all quality and transparency standards are met.
Sustainability Champion: Lead the charge on reducing the number of fit samples and help the business transition toward more sustainable practices across all operations.
