Job Title: Health & Safety Manager

Location: Nationwide – regular travel required all over the UK to our sites and offices + some ad-hoc international travel

Salary: A salary of £50,000 to £70,000 dependant on experience

Job type: Full Time – Permanent

The Role:

We're looking for a Health and Safety Manager to join our team and enhance our health and safety initiatives. You will be accountable for offering strategic direction on health and safety to the senior management team. Spearhead the creation and execution of the health and safety policy, ensuring that responsibilities are effectively fulfilled throughout the organisation. You will manage all facets of health and safety protocols and procedures, ensuring compliance across the company.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Strategic Guidance: Provide expert health and safety advice to senior management, ensuring effective implementation of policies and compliance with regulations.
  • Policy Development: Develop and maintain a robust health and safety management system, updating policies as necessary to align with legislative changes.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Review monthly reports, identify unresolved safety issues, and ensure thorough investigation of all incidents.
  • Culture Building: Foster a positive health and safety culture, engaging employees and ensuring clear communication of safety standards.
  • Training & Development: Identify and address training needs, ensuring all staff are competent in safe working practices.

Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety is essential. NEBOSH Diploma in International Health and Safety Management would be advantageous.

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Significant experience in a managerial role in health and safety within the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, particularly CDM regulations and industry best practices.
