Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Data Protection Specialist to monitor, support, and troubleshoot our customers online backup services. You will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service by proactively identifying and resolving backup issues, ensuring data security and compliance. With hands-on technical expertise, you will guide customers on backup best practices and support them across a variety of industries and environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage customer backup services, providing proactive and reactive support.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to OS, software applications, network, and transport systems affecting backup jobs.
- Advise customers on best practices for data protection and backup strategies.
- Work across a range of industries, ensuring first-class support for customers of all sizes.
- Handle multiple customer cases concurrently, providing timely progress updates and resolutions.
- Maintain accurate customer records, including case history, contact information, and installed software.
- Contribute to the upkeep and expansion of the technical knowledge base.
- Answer and route first-line calls on a rotating basis with other technicians.
- Join the on-call rota after approximately 3-4 months, with salary supplements and overtime pay.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 2-3 years of hands-on technical experience in a customer-facing role.
- Expertise in at least one of the following: TCP/IP Networking, Windows Server 2012 (including Active Directory), SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange, or Microsoft SharePoint.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a solid understanding of backup architectures and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and provide excellent customer service.
Training and Development:
- Full training on backup software and proprietary tools will be provided.
