Data Engineer
Location: Bristol (once a week in the office)
Day rate: £400pd (Outside IR35)
Length: 4 months, likely to be extended
*Must hold valid SC Clearance*
One of our established clients are looking for a Data Engineer to join them on a contract basis
They are a tech consultancy who provide specialist advice to solve energy and defence sector projects. They specialise in project management, engineering operations, and information systems and services, with a focus on resilience and delivering project-critical outcomes
You will support the Lead data engineer in the analysis and process of the raw platform data and additionally working with the lead data architect to design an ETL pipeline to a MOD cloud data platform. We are looking for a candidate who understands and knows how to code using Apache Spark technology using pySpark as a minimum
They are looking for you to have experience in the following:
- Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role
- Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
- Knowledge of Python programming languages, knowledge of Java, Scala, R, and SQL is an advantage
- Hands-on experience with SQL database design
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar numeric field
