The DBA will be part of a team that collaborates with global Sybase teams and is involved in the analysis phase of the SybExit program.

A leading provider of financial services is seeking a Sybase DBA to help with a large ongoing implementation.

The role:

The primary responsibilities of the EMEA Sybase team are the operational support, maintenance, planning, design, implementation, and enhancement of over 100 Sybase Data servers regionally.

The team also work with Sybase teams in US APAC to support various global applications. Excellent communication skills are essential as DBAs work closely with business users and application support engineers as well as partnering with other infrastructure groups and Sybase teams in different regions. Understanding of components of technology infrastructure, different working environments and operational culture is also required.

Skills required:
There is a 1 week in 4 on call rota when the assigned primary contact is required to be contactable.
The DBA Team is working on the analysis phase of the key Sybase Exit (SybExit) program.
Sybase Adaptive Server, Replication Server, Sybase IQ, Sybase OpenClient, SPLUNK, Python Perl scripting, Ansible.
Ansible Automation, Foglight Monitoring, Bradmark Surveillance DB (performance analysis and management of the repository and client installs), Autosys Job Scheduling (JIL scripting). ITSM (Change Incident Manage. Knowledge of Oracle, MS-SQL Server, and MongoDB. Knowledge of ITIL Best procedure and practice.
