Digital Workplace Engineer (Contract)

Job Summary:
The Digital Workplace Engineer will be responsible for developing, managing, and supporting technology solutions that enhance productivity and collaboration within the workplace. The role focuses predominantly on Microsoft technologies and cloud services, ensuring smooth communication, seamless system integration, and robust security across the organisation. As the technical lead for workplace systems, you will be required to resolve issues, optimise performance, and align technology solutions with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement technology solutions that boost workplace productivity and collaboration using Microsoft tools and services.
  • Manage and maintain workplace systems to ensure high performance, stability, and timely resolution of issues.
  • Provide technical support to employees, troubleshooting IT problems and delivering training on workplace technology.
  • Enforce security protocols, including access control, data protection, and threat monitoring.
  • Configure and maintain collaboration tools such as email, messaging, video conferencing, and other communication platforms.
  • Develop and implement system automation and integration to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Stay informed of the latest technology trends and tools, identifying improvements that can enhance workplace systems.
  • Work collaboratively with various departments to ensure that technology solutions meet the needs of the organisation.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation on system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Ensure the security and compliance of workplace systems through patch management, application deployment, and device management.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with Windows operating systems, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams), and Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
  • Proficient in PowerShell scripting for automating administrative tasks and managing Microsoft technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of patch management, virtual desktop environments (WVD), and application deployment.
  • Experience with security solutions, including data loss prevention (DLP) and user behaviour analytics (UBA).
